Allow me to express my sincere gratitude to all the supporters, advertisers and followers of The Beacon over the past forty-three years. The paper would not be possible without the community support and all of the volunteers that have worked tirelessly to put this publication together for so many years. Over the decades The Beacon has struggled from time to time to publish a paper each month in an atmosphere of increasing expenses and stagnated advertising revenues, but we are committed to providing a good quality paper to the members of our community. I admit to feeling pride in watching it grow and hope The Beacon will continue for many more years to come. Doing so requires your continued assistance by advertising and by patronizing the companies and individuals who advertise with us. Only in this way will we see The Beacon flourish as the fine, informative, local publication that serves the communities of Eastern Passage, Cow Bay and Shearwater and enjoyed
